KAMUELA — Konawaena girls volleyball got the best of Hawaii Prep Academy in a 3-1 road match victory on Wednesday in Ka Makani’s Castle Gym.

The Wildcats won by scores of 25-17, 25-22, 22-25 and 25-21. With the win, Kona jumped ahead to 5-1 in the early season — sitting in the No. 4 spot of BIIF DI behind Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i, Waiakea and Hilo. Its next test will be against Kohala at 5 p.m. tonight in Kapa‘au. Junior varsity will play first.
