BIIF football: Kona, KSH and Kea‘au remain unbeaten in conference

HILO — No. 12 Konawaena football remained undefeated in Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) play after Saturday night’s 35-0 shutout win over Hilo at Wong Stadium.

Wildcats sophomore quarterback Keenan Alani had another strong showing, completing 23 of his 30 attempts for 334 yards and five touchdowns — three to Ali‘imalu Tan and two to Austin Takaki. Tan and Takaki additionally combined for 17 catches for 279 yards. Three-hundred and thirty-four of Kona’s 380 scrimmage yards were in the air. Alani also averaged 11 yards per attempt.
