The Kamehameha Schools Hawai`i Campus (KSH) Girls Volleyball Teams hosted the Waiakea Warriors in Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) action today, September 12th at Koai`a gymnasium.
In the Junior Varsity (JV) opener it was KSH winning the best 2 out of 3 sets match by scores of 25-19 and 25-22.
In the Varsity match (Best 3 out of 5 sets) it was KSH prevailing in straight sets by scores of 25-13, 25-18, and 25-9.
KSH (13-1 overall, 5-0 in BIIF) was led by the hitting of Maela Honma and Shay Beals with 18 and 12 kills respectively.
Setter Maile Kuamo`o led with 38 assists.
Defensively, Kealohi Dudoit, Honma and Ziona Launiu led the effort with 32, 27, and 17 digs respectively.
The next match for the KSH Girls will be this Saturday, September 16th when they host the Wave riders of Kealakehe High School with the JV match beginning at 10:00 am and the varsity to follow thereafter.
