Kamehameha Schools Hawai`i (KSH) Girls Volleyball Highlights 8/23/23

The Kamehameha Schools Hawai`i Campus (KSH) Warriors Girls’ Volleyball Teams opened up their 2023 season tonight (August 23rd) by travelling to Hilo to face the homestanding Waiakea High School Warriors in a Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) Division I match. 

 

In the Junior Varsity (JV) preliminary match (Best 2 out of 3 sets), it was KSH prevailing in 3 sets by scores of 25-27; 25-11 and 15-13..

 

In the Varsity matchup (Best 3 out of 5 sets) it was KSH with the season-opening win, prevailing in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-12, and 25-14.

 

The KSH Warriors were led offensively by Maela Honma with 16 kills and Shay Beals with 11 kills.

Honma also led the serving for KSH with 4 of the team’s 10 service aces.

Defensively for KSH, they had had 55 digs in the match led by Shay Beals, Kealohi Dudoit and Honma with 14, 13, and 12 respectively.

 

KSH will next play on Saturday, August 26th by travelling to Kealakehe to challenge the Kealakehe High School Wave riders.
